This is what dreams are made of…..

I did a guest post for Corey on Friday and incase you missed it, I thought I’d bring it over here too. Corey asked me to share my dream vacation, so that is what I did…

we can dream, can’t we?! Who cares that there are dirty dishes in the sink and laundry that needs to be folded. Leave it and take a vacation with me! ….  so hold on tight, close your eyes, and imagine with me. We will be taking two stops on this vacation. This plane is taking off and  we are headed to …..

Italy

What is not to love about Italy? All of Italy! I am truly dying to go! EVERYWHERE in Italy to be exact! I am a fan of wine, food, and romance. Perfect place to go. That being said, I need to mention my companion. This is the husband. I love him! In order for a vacation to be a dream vacation, he must go along. Take it from someone who knows. You can be in most amazing place in the world and it won’t be amazing if you are alone. No question about it- the husband goes.

Back to the task at hand: I’m a fan of wine, food, and romance. The thought of the vineyards alone make me go weak at the knees. Seriously, just take in the beauty! Holy goodness! This is like hitting two birds with one stone- wine and romance. Hello? I think so!

Another amazingly positive thing about going to Italy is that I would get to check off two items that are on my bucket list. #1 Drink Italian wine while in Italy #2 Eat Italian food while in Italy.

The whole ambience of the country seems to be inviting and open. I just love a place where I instantly feel at home! Views like this prove to me that Italy is the place for me!

After we wrap up twenty days in Italy, I guess I’ll say by goodbyes, take my last bite of amazing Italian food, and drink my last glass to divine Italian wine! Goodbye Italy.…. Hello…..

Greece

Santorini is a gem of a location.  This is where I would begin. The views are beautiful and I hear the food is even better. This city sits off of Greece on an island where the architecture is stunning. This city is built unlike any other- especially for this Kansas girl who is used to things flat.

I am quite the fan of experiences and this seems like the perfect place to get lost in city streets and sit in the mom & pop local shop that makes the most amazing food in the word. This just seems to be a place where a person could go and truly feel like they have escaped to another world.

I was just going to make one stop while I’m in Greece, but hey I figure “go big or go home!” —We’ll go to Anthens while we are in Greece. The husband and myself would both love this stop for historical reasons. FUN!

Since you don’t want to read about the million places we would stop in Athens… I’ll spare you —-because you’re new to the “overthetopness” that is Julie. Okay, let’s land this plane and home and go wash those dishes that are sitting in the sink. 😉 ….or you can book plane tickets. Your choice!

  1. Our dream vacations are eerily similar! I’ve always dreamed of going on a romantic getaway to Italy and Greece! On the way home, I’d plan a pit stop in France!

  2. I just need to say that you look absolutely STUNNING in your wedding dress picture!

I went to Italy when I was i middle school, but sadly because I was so young I don’t remember much about it 😦 I DO happen to remember eating lots of gelato though 🙂

  3. Can I come????? Haha.

I went to Rome when I graduated from college, but there is so much more to Italy that I am dying to see! And Santorini is right at the top of my “must see” places, but sadly my bf has already been there so it’s not a priority for him. One day…

  4. Italy is my dream vacation too. My husband keeps saying we should go to Europe when we’re older…but I’m impatient!

  5. Both of those stops would definitely be on my dream vacation too! I would also love to visit Australia and New Zealand too 🙂 I hope you get to take this vacay one day!!

  7. Ahh I’m so ready to jump on a plane with you! I absolutely love traveling and miss it so much!! Italy is such an incredible city and I would love to go back! I’m also dyingggg to go to Greece! My parents went to Santorini a few years ago and had the most incredible time! Also on my list is Portugal- it’s supposed to be an awesome city!

  8. Italy and Greece are on my bucket list! But before that is France! I am dying to to go to France one day – the food, the fashion, the language!! So enticing!! You should pick a third place and make a little Eat Pray Love out of it! 😀

  9. Santorini looks stunning… I’ve been to Siena in Italy and that was gorgeous too; would love to go back.
