Hello, beautiful!

Good morning all of you beautiful readers out there! 🙂 Yes, you are beautiful and there will never, EVER, be anyone who can take the place of you! Believe that, because it is true.

It is Friday and nothing looks as beautiful as confidence! So, try it on this Friday and see how it looks. I promise you won’t regret it! 🙂 ….Says the hypocrite who tried on a million items of clothing last night and still, nothing looked good. Even my ‘go-to outfit’ looked cruddy. Oh goodness.

The mess that was left behind...

Enter Husband: “Gosh, you look beautiful honey.” I was wearing an outfit that I liked but asked “Can you see my bra, I’m not sure if it is see through or not?” (dumb question, but I really couldn’t tell) … He looks closely “Ummm, I guess you can see it a little bit. Yah, it’s see though.” …..”Shoot, I can’t go looking trashy” I mumble to myself.   So I proceed to try on about 7 more outfits; like a teenage girl who is unsure of herself. Husband told me that I looked great in all of ’em…. Bless his heart.

I finally just stuck with an option….. I don’t know what my deal was. In my head I know it looked fine, I know I was being hard on myself. Looking back at the bedroom this morning, I really wish I wouldn’t have done that. I should have just sucked it up and just walked out of the house. Don’t you just hate those days? This reminds me of my ‘You’ve GOT to be Kidding me’ post last week…. I guess I just have issues with showing skin in the summer.

We will be going back to the rodeo and I WILL be more confident and know that I look good in what I’m wearing. Yes, yes, I WILL!    (hope husband doesn’t read this, he’ll make me stick to it. Drat…)

On to my pride and joy! ….. The Garden!

Zucchini Flower = B-E-A-UTIFUL!

This here is a Zucchini flower that has a nice new baby zucchini on the end. I love the flowers that this vegetable creates. A vegetable and a flower in one!?!?! That is what this girl calls a WIN-WIN situation!!!!

Some of my 'salad bowl'

These are some of my salad bowl seeds after about a month. They are so bulky and delicious! I debated on buying these, SO GLAD I did! YUMM!

Baby cantaloupe has GROWN!!!

This is my baby cantaloupe that has grown so very much in the last week! YES! The day will be blissful when I get to pick this!

Anyone know what this beauty will be soon???

This will be an eggplant sooner or later! YES! So, excited. I love the eggplant color of this eggplant, it is so pretty!!!! I have 6 (I think) plants and I heard they produce a lot of eggplant. Whooops. Looks like the husband will have to learn to like the stuff. Eggplant is one of my FAVORITE foods!

Enough with the taunting pictures of my garden….

QUESTION: What do you do on the days where nothing looks good?

-OR- What is your all time favorite vegetable?

  1. Grr, I hate those days where no outfit feels right. I have those from time to time where I will just stare at my closet before work. I usually turn to a button-up and dark jeans. But there are also those days were everything feels good, so I guess it balances out…

And I love veggies with flowers, too–have you ever grown okra? It has the most gorgeous bloom!

  2. Your garden looks so good! I am jealous – nothing will grow on our balcony because there is not enough direct sunlight!

Days when nothing looks good I think back to a time I remember looking/feeling good and I put on the same outfit that I was wearing then!

  3. There’s nothing I hate more than those days where nothing looks right! When in doubt, I wear my favorite skirt. 🙂 I think my boyfriend is the only one who actually encourages me to buy new clothes so I don’t have these outfit days!!

  4. All time fave veggie is broccoli!!!

Your garden is awesome! You’ve got quite the green thumb 🙂 I just got in my garden last night and noticed that I have a few cucumbers growing, and a few buds here and there on my squash and pepper plants. I thought it had died, but it looks like I’ll be getting a few veggies out of it! YAY!!!

  5. Oh man, I HATE those days when nothing works. I have been known to ask my friends if an outfit looks good and even if they say yes, I can’t settle on it when I’m in that mood. It usually ends up with a full pile of things on my bed and me just picking something out and going with it because I’m too tired to deal anymore. Haha by then I’m just tired of looking in the mirror! During those times I think the best thing to do is just walk away… these moods usually strike when I’m not even going to something that important, so I just need to remember to choose something and be done with it. Though that is way easier said than done!

Oh your garden looks beautiful! I love the zucchini flower! And I absolutely love squash- butternut, acorn, zucchini, yellow- I’m a fan of all of them!

  6. ooo I DO wish I had a garden! Someday I will have a yard haha

  7. Hate those days! Usually a blousy top or comfy dress will get me out the door! Favorite veggie would probably be… bell peppers or broccoli!

  8. Your garden is beautiful! I love it!

On those days usually a flowy dress, blousy top, or in the winter, leggings, boots and a sweater! 🙂

All time fave vegetable? Is it bad that I don’t love any veggie enough to have a favorite? 😉

  9. So funny about your husband! He sure was being sweet! My garden has suffered from this heat. We live in NC. Nothing will grow 😦 My favorite veggie has to be broccoli. It’s a staple in our house.

    • The husband must have ESP because he just knew it was one of those days when he told me (sincerely) that I looked great in those outfits…. NC & Kansas have something in common then, our heat is CRAZY right now, it is usually around 103 but has even been 110 a couple of times! UGH!

  10. Wow, your garden is STUNNING! I wish I were a sneaky rabbit so I could hop in and eat it all up!!

Excited to pick some zukes and squash at my next trip to the farmer’s market, and to eat em up sneaky rabbit style!
